As Chair of the Yancey County Democratic Party, I believe our most important job is not just to win elections—but to serve our community with honesty, courage, and transparency.

Over the past year, too many decisions have been made behind closed doors. Public funds have been spent without adequate explanation. Community voices have been dismissed, and trust in our local government has eroded. That’s not how democracy is supposed to work—and we’re here to change that.

The Yancey County Democratic Party is committed to shining a light on local government. We are fighting for clear communication, responsible budgeting, and real accountability. Whether it's the handling of our public library system, the management of public health services, or the sudden increases in government salaries—our neighbors deserve the full truth and a seat at the table.

This isn’t about partisanship. It’s about integrity.

We invite every resident—Democrat, Independent, Republican—to stand with us in building a more open, responsive, and fair Yancey County. Because no matter where you fall politically, we can all agree on one thing: our leaders should work for us—not the other way around.
