Absentee Voting Begins Friday January 19 for the 2024 Primary Election in NC
Raleigh, N.C. — On Friday, Jan. 19, North Carolina’s 100 county boards of elections will begin sending absentee-by-mail ballots to registered voters who requested a ballot for the 2024 primary election.
Voter ID Now Required
IDs are now required to vote in North Carolina. If you vote by mail, you MUST send a photocopy of your ID with your ballot. Please carefully read these instructions if you plan to vote by mail. https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/vote-mail/detailed-instructions-vote-mail
Key Primary Dates 2024
Feb. 9, 2024: Voter registration deadline (5 p.m.).
Feb. 15, 2024: In-person early voting begins.
Feb. 27, 2024: Absentee ballot request deadline (5 p.m.).
March 2, 2024: In-person early voting ends (3 p.m.).
March 5, 2024: Primary Election Day.
March 5, 2024: Absentee ballot return deadline (7:30 p.m.).
Democrat precinct meeting March 11 at Yancey Library
On Saturday, March 11, at 1 p.m. upstairs at the Yancey Library, all Yancey County Democrats are urged to come and help organize their precinct.
